addicted to the hard stuff

I haven’t posted for a while now. It’s been hard… I’ve been dealing with this new… addiction.

I had heard people talk about it, you know, half heard the word mentioned, never really paid attention. I never thought I’d be sucked in.

It was my wife who started me off. She gave me one, said it was easy. And she was right, it was. But she didn’t warn me that the little bit of a mind kick it gave me would leave me wanting more. The next one was a bit harder, and the kick was even bigger. After that, I was just hooked. I haven’t slept. It has taken over my life. I’m just chasing harder and harder stuff.

So if anyone ever whispers to you, “Pssst… wanna bit of Sudoku?”
Just say “NO!”

I did wonder where you were hiding.

Try the Soul Spectrum Su Doku, with pictures instead of numbers for some variety. Prizes too.

You are an evil temptress! Nudging me down the slippery slope of alternative soduku puzzles... shame on you!

NO. Too many numbers. My brain freezes when I see numbers. eek.

My 6 year old niece waited until her dad and mum were elsewhere and bought Soduku games off the tv [this is in England].

If you own some kind of PDA, there are a number of Sudoku programs to carry your little vice with you ;)

Of course, if you want some hard stuff, you can always try... Kakuros

Your commenter's link proved just the excuse for a coffee brak and a bit of brain exercise.

Yes, I need Sudoku Anonymous as well.

GG - I wish, wish my brain would freeze over... but my wife keeps leaving them lying around!

And thank god you got the blog back up! I had a read, went off for a sudoku break, came back to leave a comment and... GOBBLEDEGOOK! Frightning.

Heimy - I know you're a problem solver, but you have it backwards! I am trying to STOP the puzzles... but hey, interesting twist. I think I'll try a few of these...

Casareño - aaah... I hear you! Coffee, sudoku... Yeah.

Ooh, TS, you are so clever. I can do logic problems but I can't do Sudoku because it involves numbers and numbers scare me. Scare me.

Katy, perhaps try the soul Spectrum Sudoku that Pamela suggests above: no numbers just James Browns and lots of Barry White.

Oh my god! I've turned into a PUSHER!

'tis a slippery slope down.

You poor bastard. I heard nicotine and heroin are tough... but nothing beats Sudoku. Only thing left is to take you out back with the shotgun and put you out of your misery... Son, get me my cartridges... It's time to put them to use

*thinks: hmm, crowd turning against me. Bollocked by previously mild mannered Granny P and GCP threatening shotgun. Maybe should post something? Yes. But first... just one more game...*

TS, it is time to put down the sudoku and return to blogging.

I'm here pulling for you. I know you can get through this.

They are even selling reading lights for Sudoku in the car at all of our local garages to help people with a similar problem to your self. Perhaps they may be available on the NHS soon. You should go to the top of mount tehde for inspiration. Sat up there drinking champagne once as the sun set. It was as if you could jump onto the marshmallow clouds. Paradise

Have you been doing sudoku solidly since March 17th? I may have to send in Air Rescue.

Saw a posting from you on expat-blog.com and thought I would check out your musings. Fortunately I have been able to avoid Sudoku so far, as I fear I would become like everyone else on the metro...

I'm going to link to your blog, if you don't mind. Cheers from Dublin!

Read one of your postings on expat-blog.com and thought I would check out your site. Fortunately I have not yet joined the Sudoku craze--I don't want to be like everyone else on the metro. I'll just focus on playing 'Jawbreaker' on my mobile instead.

I'm going to link to your blog, if you don't mind. Cheers from Dublin!

Found you as well through expat-blog.com. Never played Sudoku. But it's just magic squares isn't it? We did those when I was in school and I never found them particularly fun. But if Sudoku is this addicting, maybe I should just thank my stars I've stayed clear. I'm still dealing with the occasional SimCity relapse.

Hahahahaha! This is a really bad addiction. I remember once, when I was still living in Romania, my boyfriend came to see me from Barcelona for a weekend. During all the weekend we've been solving Sudoku's and my last week at work, before leaving to Spain I've been solving sudokus all the time.
